Yellow noodles contain 35 times the salt content that is in kway teow or beehoon. High salt intake raises blood pressure, and the risk of heart diseases and stroke. The largest sources of salt in our diet are wheat noodles, sauces and processed foods.

Singapore has raged an all out battle against diabetes, with about 1 in 9 adults under the age of 70 suffering from it. Diabetes may lead to cardiovascular disease, kidney failure and blindness. The largest sources of sugar in our diet are sugar sweetened drinks, sauces and confectionery.
