One whole egg contains an incredible array and amount of nutrients, so much so that it is capable of nourishing a fertilized embryo till its development into a chick. The nutrients present within an egg are contained within the yolk and the white. Egg white consists predominantly of protein, whereas the egg yolk consists of other nutrients such as fats, cholesterol and vitamins, etc.

Proteins are the building blocks of our body and are essential for growth and development, skin rejuvenation and wound healing. Eggs are widely consumed as they are easily available and at the same time an affordable source of (non-meat) protein.

Follow the fresh egg series where the fat and cholesterol content in both regular and large sized eggs will be revealed.
